From my personal blog – reasons I was glad that I learned languages at school

Today I’d like to share with you a post that I wrote for my personal blog. It’s relevant to this blog too though, because it’s about why I’m glad that I learned languages at school.

I was one of the fortunate ones. Language lessons at school were fun for me. I enjoyed them and they were also some of my best subjects.

Did you enjoy language lessons at school? To what extent did your teacher influence how much you enjoyed them? Let me know in the comments, either here or on the original article.

Sometimes people’s memories of school language lessons are not like mine. These people think of lessons that were boring, grammar that never made sense, books that they didn’t want to read, time when they just didn’t pay attention, or teachers that didn’t make things interesting.
For adults who want to learn a language nowadays, the experience doesn’t have to be like going to school again. There are so many things that you can do, and if you’re interested in English lessons, you can find out about mine here.

Otherwise, let me know if you can think of any other things to add to the list about ways in which learning languages at school can help us – it’s not all just about passing those exams!
