Supporting you to deliver your programmes to English-speaking audiences
Do you have programmes, training courses or workshops that you would like to deliver in English?
You’ve done the creative work. You have a product that you’re offering to your current audience in a language other than English. You’ve got good results and your clients are already enjoying the benefits.
Now you want to reach more people and make your programmes available in English – either because you want to work with people in English-speaking countries, or because you want to use English as a general language for communication. You want more people to benefit from your content and you don’t want language barriers to get in the way.
Maybe you’ve already had requests for the training to be in English and it’s something that you keep putting off because you’re not sure what to do first! Or maybe you feel it’s a step too far out of your comfort zone!
It would be easier if you had someone to join you on this journey.
But where do you start?
There are practical tasks to be done, but really, you start with yourself.
- How do you feel about delivering this training in English?
- Do you feel ready to talk about it with all your usual passion and enthusiasm so that people understand how you can help them?
- Are you ready to answer their questions or explain things in more detail … in English?
This is not a how-to programme that takes you from A to B because, although the end goal is the same, people will need to focus on different parts of the process, depending on their situation, how they feel, and where their challenges lie.
That’s why we will build your consultancy programme and allocate time to the areas in which you need it most.
We will look at areas such as:
- Your biggest challenge – what’s preventing you from offering your training in English at the moment?
- Your materials – do you have any slides/information/learning resources that you will need to make available in English?
- Marketing and communication – how will people find out about or sign up for your event or course? What information do you need to send them before it starts? Where will you find these people and what methods will you use to communicate with them?
- Delivery – do you feel confident to deliver the course in English? Are there any areas in which you need support/to build your confidence/to practise presentations?
- The spontaneous parts – how do you feel about chatting with participants, running practical exercises or responding spontaneously to questions? What can we do to make this easier for you?
- Audience – is there anything that you will need to adapt if you’re going to present your current material to an English-speaking audience? This could be cultural references that would not make sense/assumed knowledge about people or places etc.
- Additional concerns – Is there anything else that you’d like me to help you with?
I work with people who are dealing with one or all parts of this process. I support them so that they feel more confident to present their knowledge in English.
It’s not just a checklist exercise. We give space to talking about you, your challenges, any blockages, and what you need to feel confident and empowered to deliver your knowledge and training In English.
In addition, we work through all the tasks that contribute to a well-prepared and well-run event or course when you’re working in an additional language.
You can also use any remaining time or invest in additional support for more ad-hoc questions that arise in relation to your programmes. This generally takes the form of email support
Your investment
You can buy packages depending on how much time you will need and it is not necessary to take all of the hours at once. For example, if you buy a day of support, we can break it up into multiple 60 or 90-minute sessions so you have time to go away and carry out any actions before we move on to the next part of the process.
- 1 day (7 hours) costs £299
- Half a day (3.5 hours) costs £179
- A single hour costs £59
- a second opinion on your English content
- a friendly mentor who can guide you and help you to prepare, practically, mentally, and emotionally
- someone with whom you can develop your plans and find the right words to communicate your ideas in English in a way that sounds like you.!
Who is this service for?
If you’re looking at this programme, you don’t need an English course. However, you would benefit from:
You might be a course creator, a trainer, a coach or a guide. This programme will be more relevant if you work with your own materials that you use for workshops or training courses, as opposed to more spontaneous, free-flowing sessions. You have some training or a signature programme, online or face-to-face, and your next step is to offer it to those who don’t speak your first language.
Note: I am not a translator and I don’t offer translation services. I have been teaching English since 2012 and before that I worked in communications. I can give you feedback on your English content and support you with your presentation skills. Through my work in the language industry, I have many translators in my professional network. I’ll be happy to refer you to colleagues who can translate your written content into English.
