“I don’t know!”

In this episode I show you some vocabulary so that you can say a bit more than just “I don’t know” to customers and colleagues.

This is the vocabulary that I mentioned during the episode:

Different ways of saying the same thing:

  • I don’t know
  • I have no idea/no idea
  • I haven’t got a clue

You aren’t sure

  • I believe that
  • I think that
  • I don’t know for certain but

  • I’m not 100% sure but
  • You’ll need to check, but I think

2. you will help

  • I don’t know but I’ll find out
  • I don’t have that information at the moment but I will call you back/email you/let you know when I have it.
  • I don’t know I’ll get back to you by the end of the day.
  • I’m not sure about that. Leave it with me and I’ll find out.
  • I need to speak with a colleague first but I’ll come back to you later.
  • I need to check the details and I’ll come back to you when I’ve done that.
  • Unfortunately I can’t remember. I’ll send you an email to confirm the details later.
