Episode278

Kimberly sits at her home office desk, facing the camera with a warm smile. She’s wearing a bright yellow blouse and is seated in front of her computer. On the screen, the name of her company, Bright Translation, is clearly visible. The background shows a cozy, well-lit workspace with personal touches that reflect a calm and focused work environment.

Sharing what you know – newsletter for translators with Kimberly Martinez

You can listen to episode 278 here:

I first discovered Kimberly Martinez from Bright translation on LinkedIn – where else! I signed up for her newsletter because I thought it would be useful for me to learn some new things about the translation industry and, after reading some of Kimberly’s posts on LinkedIn too, I thought she’d be an interesting guest for a conversation on the podcast.

We hadn’t spoken before our podcast conversation, so this was also our chance to get to know one another better.

We talked about:

  • How Kimberly became interested in languages and how she works with them today
  • Why Kimberly started her translation business and how it has changed over time
  • What actions we can take as business owners that will help us to grow
  • Tips for going out of our comfort zone, especially in relation to useing additional languages
  • Why Kimberly decided to start her newsletter and some of the good things that have come from it so far.

Kimberly also mentioned a book, Good Power: Leading Positive Change in Our Lives, Work, and World by Ginni Rometty.

Who is Kimberly?

This is how Kimberly introduces herself:

“My name is Kimberly Martinez. I’m a Spanish and English translator with over 10 years of experience. I specialize in helping law offices, hospitals, and schools communicate clearly with Spanish-speaking communities. I believe that clear and accurate translation builds trust and opens doors for everyone.
I also love connecting with other freelancers and small business owners. On LinkedIn and through my newsletter, I share tips, lessons from my own journey, and behind-the-scenes moments to help others grow their business with confidence.”
