Who is Cátia?
Cátia Lima teaches Portuguese as an Additional Language, helping students from around the world learn not only the language but also the culture of Portugal. She includes music, video, and cultural references into her lessons, reflecting her passion for Portuguese traditions, history, and everyday life.
In the past, Cátia also worked as a content writer and ghostwriter specialising in Portuguese culture and travel. She wrote for travel bloggers, tourism businesses, and a magazine for expats and foreign investors, in a style that combined practical information with cultural insight and storytelling.
She is the author of the blog Beyond Lisbon, where she has been writing about lesser-known places in Portugal and the nuances of Portuguese culture since 2013.
