Things are changing on the English with Kirsty blog

I like writing blog articles so much that I decided to get a third one!

No, that’s not the main reason, but I wanted to write a quick post and explain what’s going to be happening on English with Kirsty.

I set up this site back in 2012 when I started my language teaching business. I added the blog in 2015 because I wanted to share some of the tips and answers to questions that kept coming up again and again in my lessons and on my social media pages. So the English with Kirsty blog was born.

Then, in 2017, I decided I wanted my own little space on the internet for writing. It’s my personal blog. The place where I can talk about things that are on my mind, places I’ve been, beauty and skincare, animals, accessibility – all the things that have nothing to do with work. All these things can be found on Unseen Beauty.

As my business grew, so did the range of services that I provide. I began offering proofreading, translation, and later screenreader usability testing. The services got their own pages, but things began to feel really cluttered. So I decided to split my business into two. The English with Kirsty site would go back to being a resource for those interested in improving their language skills. This means that this blog will still have posts on learning English, answers to vocabulary or grammar questions, tips about language learning, and things that I am discovering as a learner of other languages. I’ll also keep the occasional posts for teachers of English here.

My other communication services such as translation, proofreading, copy writing, presentation training, audio transcription, and accessibility testing have moved to the new site – EwK Services. This new site also has its own blog, where I will focus more on effective communication, communicating your message to different audiences, writing well, or things to avoid when you’re communicating with your own staff, your colleagues, or your customers. This is not aimed so much at learners of English, although intermediate and advanced learners are sure to pick up some useful tips.

I won’t be duplicating the effective communication content here on the English with Kirsty blog, so if it sounds like something that you would be interested in, you can go to the EwK Services blog and sign up for the fortnightly email update, which will contain details of new posts, as well as other tips and links on the subject of communication.

The main reason for the change is to make it really clear what each site is offering, and to make it easy for people to find what they’re looking for.

I look forward to seeing some of you over on the new site 
